Inspired by the Peter Pan Motel - Las Vegas
Stitch. Shadow. Soap. Kiss.
He reaches for second stars, while at his feet;
Grown-up conversations underneath
Wendybird's flown in a neon fashion
While Pan stays fixed in boyish passion...
The youth who mistakes a thimble for a kiss
Though I bet his shadow knows what one is
Scant happy thoughts to wing him up
In the years since he's touched pixie dust
While Captain Hook is a midlife crisis
Fevering indecision and rented vices
The lost boys are still lost - though they are old boys now
And mermaids make do in baths and damp towels
How many have sought a Neverland
Beneath surrender to another's hand
When you have seen your world twist and vary
And the foibles of all people, weak, yet merry
When your cool, dark twin has secrets to carry
And the sun has baked you sedentary
Can you still believe in fairies?
Stitch. Shadow. Soap. Kiss.
Let me show you how simple it is
