The Good Book says we are all gods
Diminutive “g” with strange and simple choices that would overwhelm Olympus
No one warns you of the consequences while wielding the power of will
Without curriculum, no tests to fully prepare us for intentional acts, we commit great evils because…we can
We are dark entities – creating life and death on whim
Divine beings with a tragic dictum of laissez-faire freedom
Lovecraftian horrors beyond boundaries of fiction
I want to serve my fellows in the pantheon of ego
I want to love someone enough to ruin their life
I want to ride the Ferris Wheel and never give up my seat, until revolving colors and popping lights are edible and I can take them with me, in me
While we break each other with candy coated shells of insulation and mow each other down with bullets the flavor of indignation
I can't even categorize all the species of camouflage moving amongst us
I only recognize my own – sarcastic, metaphorical, and leafy
A real showstopper with a dwindling audience
Continually searching for my sartorial twin, we’ll build a home together
Or at least a wall
And all who pass by will ask with no answer, “Why is that wall screaming?”
